A totem of contemporary designTrípode is a family designed to give a warmer touch to neutral spaces through the use of color. This series includes two sizes of table lamps and a popular floor lamp as well as a pendant lamp version in different sizes. Designed in 1994, the GT5 pendant lamp was the first of a large family created as an alternative to using cardboard, methacrylate or solid textile shades. By using handmade cotton ribbon, traditional craftsmanship is resumed. When the light is switched on, the umbrella provides a warm, nuanced light. When the lights are off, this lamp is a sculptural statement piece that enhances the room. Santa&Cole continues to champion the use of banded shades to disguise any type of light source, through various textile materials. Santa&Cole collaborated with the Raw Color studio in Eindhoven (Holland) to create new ribbon colors, each woven from three different yarns: terracotta, mustard yellow and forest green. The three basic colors of the ribbon collection, natural white, amber red and black, which have been available since 1994, complete the range of six available colors.
