Blom is a small table lamp designed by Andreas Engesvik, a Norwegian designer who has established himself on the international stage through his ability to transfer emotions, suggestions and ideas to everyday objects. With its small dimensions - it is 24 cm high and has a diameter of 15 cm - Blom is a light and cheerful lamp that can be intuitively handled, moved and adjusted to the needs of the user. The name, a shortening of the term “blomst”, meaning flower in Norwegian, comes from the shape of the lamp, which has wings resembling petals and is reminiscent of a flower. The amount of light is adjustable thanks to the two petals that delicately frame the diffuser and rotate on the base. They enable the luminous flux to be shielded and thus personalized as required: the petals arranged one above the other have the greatest light emission. The compact fluorescent or LED lamp guarantees good light output with low power consumption. The metal base gives the lamp stability. When the light is on, the polycarbonate petals maintain a temperature that allows interaction without risk of burns. Blom is an object that adapts perfectly to contemporary living, fitting just as well on a coffee table as it does on a bedside table.
