"IN-EI" means something like "shadow, richness of shadow, shading" in Japanese. The conception and technology of the artistic lights go back to the Miyake Design Studio, when Issey Miyake and his research and development team, the Reality Lab, in the year In 2010, we presented the project "132 5. ISSEY MIYAKE". This project was developed by Jun Mitani using a mathematics program based on 3D geometry. IN-EI ISSEY MIYAKE was created through the collaboration of Artemide and Reality Lab and represents a symbiosis of lighting technology Competence and innovative approach to materials and design. Each lampshade is created using mathematical 2D or 3D principles that produce a harmonious interaction of light and shadow. Miyake's unique folding technique creates sculptural shapes with optimal stability. The structure of the recycled fabric is given a additional surface treatment and guarantees perfect dimensional stability without the need for an additional frame. The original shape can be restored at any time if necessary. The lampshades can be folded flat after use and stored to save space.
